As an Orange Ambassador with ING Direct I was fortunate enough to be invited to Toronto at the beginning of the month, only knowing that it was for a “unique, not-to-be-missed event where we will be making an exciting announcement!” Having never been to Toronto, is was too good to pass up right?
On the morning of November 4th I flew from Vancouver to Toronto, after arriving and getting checked into the Novotel Hotel myself and the other Orange Scarf Ambassadors from across the country were invited to visit the new ING Direct office building for a tour which ended with a cocktail reception and dinner.
The following day we were invited to an Ambassador Breakfast where ING Direct’s Chief Marketing Officer, Andrew Zimakas, gave us a sneak peek of what’s to come from ING DIRECT over the next few months. By this time we had all figured out that ING Direct was going to be re-naming themselves, but they were tight lipped throughout the morning not to spill the beans before the afternoon’s big announcement. We also got to meet and have our pictures Peter Aceto, CEO of ING Direct Canada.
Then it was off to lunch where we were treated to a private cooking class and we all got to eat our creations. In true ING Direct fashion, the class focused on cooking on a budget.
After lunch, we headed back to the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts for the big announcement and we finally got to find out the new name for ING Direct Canada is Tangerine!

A Message from Peter Aceto
Big thanks to everyone at ING Direct who had a part in inviting me and my fellow ambassadors to Toronto to share in your event!
