My 3 Words for 2012

My 3 Words for 2012

The idea is Chris Brogan’s. Instead of a resolution to come up with 3 words that will help you define your goals and experiences for the coming year.

The following are the three words that I have chosen to summarize my focus and efforts in the coming year, they encompass both my personal and professional goals.

My three words for 2012 are:

Create

Looking back over the past year one goal I had with this site was to create more videos. It never happened. I typically struggled to put together the few videos that I did over the year. They just didn’t always flow and forcing yourself to do something never really feels right. I still intend to “Create” content, but will do so only when it feels right, be it a written or video post it won’t matter to me as long as there is value to my clients and industry colleagues.

Simplify

Last year I spent a great deal of time simplifying my office processes to make myself a more efficient mortgage broker. This year I’ll be working to simplify the mortgage process for my clients. While there is already some great tools and technology in place there’s room for improvement and some really exciting things ahead for my clients which I can’t wait to share.

Collaborate

I have always found value in collaboration and will continue to do so with referral sources and industry colleagues in 2012. I look forward to sharing knowledge, learning and growing both professionally and personally this year.

And what about you? What would your three words be in 2012?

Scott, I like those three words.  We don’t know each other but I would love to collaborate with you if you are willing.  I also believe that the best ideas should be shared.  As for simplifying for customers I look forward to seeing what you come up with,.  Try out Asana.com for helping you simplify your office and tasks.  I love the interface, and it’s free.  As for whether to do video or write, I personally think it is also a combination of both, however I am leaning toward video.  Keep pushing, you will get it.  I was nervous at first and now i have over 185 videos in my vimeo account.
